Public Relations Campaigns was a course that required students to work with a local client by creating a campaign proposal for them. The project was intended to improve the various programs through researching what the public, employees, patrons or members found problematic or beneficial. Different types of research were used for each team, and ranged from focus groups to surveys.
My team (called KTE Creative) worked with Opelika Main Street, a nonprofit organization dedicated to bringing patrons to the historic district of downtown Opelika, Alabama, and centered around improving one of their events. We wanted to determine whether or not the businesses of downtown were benefitting from the event (On The Town) and brainstorm how to increase event attendance.
